St Louis Hills Real Estate

The St. Louis Hills neighborhood is located in the southwest area of the city of St. Louis Missouri and covers over 700 acres with tree-lined streets and a variety of home styles ranging from bungalows to sprawling ranches as well as two-story estate-style homes.

According to the St Louis Hills Neighborhood association website, St Louis hills was developed by Cyrus Crane Willmore who was of English descent and it shows in the architecture of the early homes built in St Louis Hills as well as the street names such as Nottingham, Devonshire and Tamm.

In the 1930's St Louis Hills was marketed as "Country living in the City" as it was, at the time, way west of any other development within the city. Willmore's original vision for St Louis Hills included fine architectural design with homes built of brick with tile or slate roofs and plenty of stained glass and high-end finishes. Two unique features to St Louis Hills that made this neighborhood stand out are red concrete sidewalks and an abundance of rose bushes planted along the streets.
